The Knight by Cuellar The Knight by Cuellar
The Knight Archetype is probably one of my Favorites....Known for his chivalry, loyalty, self-sacrifice and protection, the Knight is most known for his love of honor...but be careful of Romantic delusions with these Knights....:)

ummmmm isn't that a roman weapon? an the cross on his chest is jesus, which isn't what the romans worshipped. plus, roman soldiers weren't referred to as knights

Makes me sad that there aren't more of this man in this look.

Hey there, would it be okay if I used this image on my site promoting a modernised version of chivalry?

hmm... kind of neat, but the mixture sof Roman Catholic, Roman and Greek is kind of too much

Gorgeous sword - that dude is carved out of stone. This is a fantastic image.
angels-anthem Featured By Owner Jan 25, 2012  Hobbyist Writer
why is he trying to cut off his fingers...?
Valkyhria Featured By Owner Jan 22, 2012
Knight, huh? Is that why you're holding a gladius? A ROMAN weapon? Roman fighters were either legionnaires or gladiators. Not knights.
Bobcatx2 Featured By Owner Jun 17, 2012
Hahaha right!?! :D
GolanArms Featured By Owner Feb 9, 2012
He has a catholic cross and the sword looks more like a spatha, could be a late era roman where the roman army started to use more cavalry.

very good pose, and very good lighting. I love the sword :)

i would not like to ruin that self-sacrifice myth but you know where that habit for letting ladies enter first comes? from knights! they were so feared of being assasinated that they let the ladies enter first ...and if there were an assasin he/she stabbed the lady and knight remained intact plus by the time the knight already did have enough time to draw his sword and kill the assasin... I'm not sure if this is true but sounds reasonable.

Hi
You submitted this to the group FAVS rather than into the gallery itself, I have just asked your permission to submit it to the correct gallery in the group instead.

Thanks so much and welcome to the group :blowkiss:

Great oogly moogly!:faint:
This is an actual photograph!!!????!!?!?!
The context! the lighting! he looks like he just strolled off the battlefield!
How did you find this guy? He even looks like a true Praetorian Guard! So much win in genealogy accuracy that it's almost giving me a nose bleed.:giggle:

Knight without armor is like rabbit without ears
Cuellar Featured By Owner Sep 30, 2009  Professional Photographer
The sword and cross symbolize the armor in this image... It's a way of life more than the armor it's honor not armor that makes a knight :.)
Necrocyborg Featured By Owner Oct 1, 2009
So poetic.. but still I prefer knights with armor ;)
ShadowRaze Featured By Owner Jun 6, 2009
I love this...i have romatic delusions about knights too....its unhealthy ;)
great shot!

Sometimes you just can't help it, it's in your psychic DNA,(loving/being the knight) and you're just drawn to them, but they do have their good points too...thanks!

Great picture, although thats a gladius not a long sword or claymore which Knights were known to use.

Gladiuses were standard weapons for Roman legions, not knights whose swords were lengthier.

Id love this even more if he was wearing parts of his armor.

amazing, truly! there is only one problem i see, and thats only because im a medieval geek, thats a roman galadius, but i have herd of some knights using them in the 1000's. but the expression is perfect :)

Wow, great lighting and composition. Love this photo. Dude has some huge arms too.
x-Adrasteia-x Featured By Owner May 3, 2008
Was that a real sword? I love the lighting and the background.. and he just looks awesome. He looks sweet but oh so dangerous at the same time. Like one of those guys that you just KNOW will break your heart. :)
The sword gives it an 'old shot' quality, if that make sense?
Cuellar Featured By Owner May 4, 2008  Professional Photographer
that's a real sword, a replica of the Braveheart sword..I lit the background from behind and had my main light to the left of him about 4 ft away....he could have been a heart breaker~ but is about as loyal as man can be :) Ya, I'm glad you get that old shot feel from the sword, tryin' for that feel as well...:)
x-Adrasteia-x Featured By Owner May 5, 2008
Wow, awesome! You did a great job with the lighting and him with his pose and expression. You definitely got the old feeling here. And that's sweet! I wish one day I can find someone like that.
ZanaSoul Featured By Owner Mar 15, 2008
Lovley shot, the light and the background make him stand out even more.
Cuellar Featured By Owner Mar 21, 2008  Professional Photographer
THx so much for noticin' the light on that hon. I had it back lit behind the muslin to bring out those tones...and then of course a little tweakin' in CS :)
ZanaSoul Featured By Owner Mar 22, 2008
:) it came out just right, the lightning is beautiful and gratz for a fantastic job :)
